I chose to do a health essay on it.
Is it because when we eat or drink anything from that cow, the hormone goes into our body? But what are the effects of that hormone to humans?
Best answer:

hormones can cause cancer.
What do you think? Answer below!
It can lead to problems with our own hormones and growth abilities. Yes it can cause cancers to grow too. The hormones were designed for cows not humans but when we consume the meat it is now in us. So we need to be careful what we put into our bodies until we understand how it can affect us.
ReplyDeleteActually, the tissue levels of BST, which is used to enhance growth and milk production in dairy cattle, is tightly regulated by the federal government and the maximum levels of the synthetically-produced hormone allowed by law are very low in comparison to a rigorously established threshold deemed safe for human consumption. In addition, the corresponding hormone in humans (and primates more generally) has a different active core than that of other mammals so the cross-over between species is probably less than your other respondents might imagine. Yet these concerns, which were circulating in Europe as long as twenty years ago, have persisted, perhaps illogically, and distort our perceptions of the real science. However, those fears, irrelevant at best, have provided an opportunity to retail, at somewhat enhanced costs, milk produced from dairy cattle grown "the old-fashioned way." We live in an age where scientific enlightenment is far from universal... rare in fact. But this is a good question because it addresses, albeit somewhat obliquely, problems far more pervasive, and indeed pernicious, than any risk of disease from BST — the failure of the educational system to properly train the public in the ways of science, the opportunism of the corporate businessman, the irresponsibility of the news media, and the gullibility of the average man.
