I'm 17 and 5'6, and I want to gain a few inches, so I am considering taking hgh (human growth hormone) injections. I am unfamilar as to how they are given. are you just given it once and thats it? or is it given daily for a few months? and is it expensive?

No doctor is going to give it to you unless you have a medical condition that requires it.

If a doctor finds that someone has growth hormone deficiency, it can be treated by replacing the missing hormone. The replacement hormone is produced in a laboratory and is given as a daily shot.
ReplyDeleteDepending on when the diagnosis is made, treatment usually lasts for several years — until the growth areas of the bones close (after that, no more growth can occur).
Taking the hormone by mouth doesn't work because the hormone is destroyed by the stomach's digestive juices.
