Im short 5ft to be exact, i wondered if there a way doctors can educe you with genes or hormones so you start to grow again?

My guess is no as your long bones have probably grown together by now and when that happens increases in height is stopped.
But then again I am not an endocrinologist, maybe you are different, but I would not wait long to see one as time is ticking.

Not really, no.
ReplyDeleteBy 22 your epiphysial plates (growth plates) on your bones are pretty much done. You will stop growing, anatomically, at 25, when your hip bone fuses from three separate bones to one.
Any hormones, such as human growth hormone, will simply fuse any remaining growth plates early, and will actually stunt your growth. As for genes, well, genetic modification of humans is (a) illegal and (b) hasn't been properly discovered yet (although GM plants have). Any genetic modification by this stage, even if it were possible at this point in time, wouldn't help much (see explanation about plates above).
You may grow naturally but by 22 that's unlikely.
