I've recently heard some of the negatives about cow's milk and I'm disgusted. I am definitely switching to organic. Anyway, I was wondering if this hormone can lead to weight gain as well. Does anyone know any of the other affects it can have?

ReplyDeleteYes, it is in milk, beef, and pork too.
ReplyDeleteThat is why we are an over weight country.
Hormones in cow's milk could lead to hypoglycemia in humans (low blood sugar). One of the symptoms of low blood sugar is weight gain. Check out hypoglycemia on the web as it can have many different side effects (insomnia, mood swings, depression, among a few).
ReplyDeleteYes it does. it also has made girls start their period sooner than they normally would.growth hormones changes our hormones greatly.
ReplyDeleteWell I am not sure, but it probably does. I mean, look at how big a cow is. People always refer to an overweight individual as a cow, or as a hieffer. And just a quick note to "LeeA", those foods are not necessarily the reason we are an overweight nation. It is because we(Generally Speaking), are lazy, spoiled, and eat a whole lot of crappy, fat and carb loaded foods.
ReplyDeleteThere is no difference between the milk from cows treated with synthetic hormone and milk from untreated cows. The hormone is not transferred into the milk.
