Yes, exactly. People take it to become giants. Like the ones you see all around you. That's why it's so popular; everyone wants to be a giant.

  1. why would you ask that question here? just type it into google, or better yet just go to www.wikipedia.org/ and they will tell you everything you need to know about HGH, how it's produced NATURALLY in the body (just like testosterone), as well as reasons for taking a supplement of it. but if you really think that it could turn people into giants then you probably wont understand their answer.

simply put: some people take it to help solve problems like muscular dystrophy, and others take it like they take steroids to gain muscle mass. It does not turn you into a giant.

  2. Your height is genetically determined, HGH doesn't add a thing to it.

Our bodies make HGH when we are young, tapers off in our twenties. Supplementing the supply is supposed to help you perform and heal like a younger person, but it's mostly an 'anti- aging' drug, supposed to help your skin stay smooth and wrinkle free, your bones strong, etc.

  3. I have a son on HGH which is Human Growth Hormone. Let me tell you about him and maybe that will help clarify things.
When he see's his regular doc they keep track of his height, depending on your age you should fall within a certain height zone. He was always below this zone for his age. The first thing they did was take a x-ray of his left hand/wrist to compare his bone age to his chronological age. His age at that time was 6 yrs 8 mos., but his bone age was that of a 3-4 year old. So then he was referred to an endocrinologist, they specialize in this area. They wanted to see if he was a "late bloomer" or if their was a problem so they did what is called a growth hormone stimulation test, which is a blood test that takes about 4 hrs to do, to see if his pituitary gland was developing growth hormone as it should. His pituitary gland was not and was detemined he had growth hormone deficiency, then they had to determine why so he had a MRI of his brain done and it turns out he has an underdeveloped pituitary gland. Now he has to take daily injections of growth hormone (true HGH is only by injections, in any other form it is not true HGH and you need a prescription for it) to help him grow since his pituitary gland is not producing it like it should be, the amount per injection is based off of your weight. When you are not growing as you should it affects more than your height, it affects the development of your organs, muscles, teeth and such.
Taking the HGH is not going to make him a giant by any means, but it will help him get to height he should be while being sure the other stuff developes as it should for his age. Right now the goal is to get him within his height zone for his age, when he reaches that he may not have to take the injections as often but he will still have to continue to take them until his body is suppose to naturally stop growing. When your natural growth ends, the ends of your bones fuse and quit growing. Taking HGH after your bones have stopped growing naturally will not make you a giant either.
My son takes somatropin which is identical to the growth hormone produced naturally by the pituitary gland for his growth hormone deficiency, but it also can be used for short stature caused by certain syndromes, it can be used for weight loss, body building, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis in children, and other stuff as well. This link is about somatropin and how the HGH can be used for other areas than growing, maybe that wil help you out as well. http://www.somatropin.net/
