I posted this earlier and didnt get any real good responses anyone got anything else?
When the players have millions of dollars and can get human growth hormones and the league doesnt even test for it how will it ever be out of baseball? If the players do not want steroids in the game why does the players union always fight testing? last but not least if these players can find these substances dont you think they could find a way to cover it up?

No, not all forms of steroids are even detectable and new performance enhancers are being developed as we speak. Not just baseball, all sports have this issues because adequate testing doesn't exist. Not much can be done.

You will never get rid of it. As long as there are ways to cheat people will always try to do it. And with the $ $ involved the only way to get rid of it is start messing with their money.
ReplyDeleteIf a player gets caught the team can reclaim contract money paid out. I am sure that will help. The one thing atheletes dont like being messed with is their money.
But of course the union spends more time protecting the bad members over the good members. But pretty typical of unions.
No, steroids will never be out of baseball. ever. Even with government interfierence.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, no. Players will still try to acquire steroids from other countries and people. It's just ridiculous that people would go to these measures to get better. They should have a steroid check of EVERY player every 6 months.
ReplyDeleteIt's doubtful with all the technologies in the medical industry that exist today. I liken the steroids situation to that of computer viruses. When you've cured one, somebody creates another. They need to come up with more definitive testing to catch every form of steroid that's out there. There isn't even a test in place that will detect the presence of HGH's.
