what's the difference between being just being short and having pituitary dwarfism?

Question by cheer_mee15: what's the difference between being just being short and having pituitary dwarfism?
im doing a disease/condition report and i don't really get what the difference is because pituitary dwarfism is caused by not enough hormone production so the bones won't grow or w.e. yah i also need to know more.........

Being just short means that you are short in comparison to the population at large. This is because you are carrying the genes for shortness. You acquired these genes from your family. So if you are about your mom's height or your dad's height than you are short.

Pituitary dwarfism is dwarfism due to under production of Human Growth Factor (the hormone which controls human growth. This is a disease. It is treated, if diagnosed early by replacing the missing hormone.
