I was told by my doctor that I have a growth hormone deficiency which may have contributed to my short stature, so he recommended maybe putting me on HGH. Im just wondering is it safe? Could it actually help me grow a couple inches taller? What are the common side effects? And if so, are there any safer alternatives? I know age is probably a factor as well, Im a 19 year old male.

Ya. Look up alitar overeem. He is a giant of a man. He took hgh and was suspended from the UFC. They monitered the whole time he was suspended. A year of not taking it made his testosterone levels drop dangerously low

-Smoking will make you thinner and quite possibly more muscular and hairy, because it increases testosterone levels. But the real effect of smoking during puberty is on your lungs, cardiovascular system, maybe your brain
-tobacco increases estrogen and lowers testosterone. Tobacco decreases human growth hormone lowering height potential by as much as 5 inches

Safe to take niacin while on antidepressants?

I've been taking antidepressants for the past week (Fluoxetine) and besides some dizziness, tiredness and once at night experiencing intense shortness of breath, they seem to be working well for my moods. (Also, the shortness of breath isn't an allergy as it isn't under 'allergic reactions' or 'serious reactions' in the leaflet but it is under general side effects, so I don't think the shortness of breath was too serious although it did feel quite severe that one time I was experiencing it).

Today I bought some Niacin (vitamin B3, 100MG) from Holland & Barrett as I understand it helps with fatigue and low moods and so far I have just taken 1. Its the flush-free version if that makes any difference to the effectiveness of it. I also read its good for encouraging human growth hormone and as i'm 18 and a slow developer I thought it could speed up my height as my family tend to have growth spurts around 18-20.

Is it safe to be taking these both together daily? Should I tell my dr? Why might I have issues with my liver?

I turned 15 last month and I'm currently 5'4. I know that with being a girl, you stop growing at about 17 or 18. I'm doing all the right things and I want to get as much height in as I can before I'm done growing. I've heard that peanut butter helps, but I really don't know if that has any credibility. I exercise, which is a proven factor, but I'm looking more in the foods department. I really don't think there is any miracle food for height, but I've really dedicated myself to this, and if you have any helpful advice please do tell.

I'm pretty certain that you can't do anything, it is mostly genetics. Of course there are bad habits like drinking and drugs that stunt your growth. Even saying this, I do have to say that my brother ate a whole lot of cereal growing up and he is now 6'9", but he has a tall family. I would be careful so that you don't put on weight.

This is just another reason why teachers should be wary of typed homework assignments. There is a difference between asking for a little help with one or two difficult questions and asking someone to do your homework for you.

Do you really trust just any stranger to do your homework for you? Do you expect to learn anything this way? If you are in "Advanced Biology," you really need to know this stuff. Start by reading the material and actually trying to answer most of the questions on your own. The tests are not going to be easy, especially if someone out in webland answered your questions for you.

Read the text, go to class and participate, and try to do your own homework. You may find that you are capable of a lot more than you are giving yourself credit for.

They can be given once you have reached puberty or very behind in starting. The negative side to HGH is it makes your organs, feet.....grow too. This can stress the body. Don't go on them unless it is neccessary.

I only know one guy who takes HGH.

The only effective HGH is injections. And they must be taken often (I think at least once or twice daily). A doctor should prescribe it, although u can buy it without a prescription I think (In Canada...Don't know about USA or other places).

HGH pills, liquids (or anything taken orally) DO NOT work. Also injectible HGH is not cheap.

As for whether it would be good for u personally, I'm no doctor and couldn't even begin to answer it even if I saw u in person. U will need to consult a real doctor for a valid opinion.

no u will not grow nowsince the GROWTH PLATE stops expanding in the long bones!!
also there is no longer HORMONAL stimulus for growth

You are usually done growing by about 21, so going on being taller than your parents, I would think that's it.

After that you start shrinking imperceptibly as your posture changes and gravity kicks in. Forget the hormone things they won't help and could give you nasty side effects.
